The book presents the results of many years of archaeological research of the Shokshinsky burial ground in the Tengushevsky district of the Republic of Mordovia, carried out in 1983-1988. Extensive materials on the history of the Ryazan Oka tribes are being introduced into research circulation, which will significantly supplement the information about the past of the Finno-Ugric peoples of Russia. The Shoksha burial ground dates back to the 5th–11th centuries, and its period of operation spans the period from the Great Migration Period to the early Middle Ages.
