The book is a complete publication of 31 shamanistic rituals written down by the notorious ethnographer A.A.Popov 1922-1925 in the former Vilyui District in Yakut with their parallel translation into Russian. The scholarly apparatus contains articles on Yakut shamanism, stories and legends about shamans, as well sa a dictionary and an index of terms. The texts are accompanied with the author’s field notes.
