The book explores visions of war in contemporary Ukrainian literature. The author focuses on the analysis of fiction and documentary works published during the full-scale Russian aggression (2022–2024), authored by Volodymyr Rafieienko, Kateryna Babkina, Oleksandr Mykhed, Ievheniia Kononenko, Andrii Liubka, and others. These texts – despite the diversity of the authors’ individual experiences and styles – provide a collective image of national resistance that will be inscribed as an epic page in the history of Ukraine in the 21st century. They not only reflect the military realities of the present, but also rethink a number of basic concepts, such as national identity, totalitarian legacy, decolonization, overcoming trauma, geocultural orientations of Ukrainianness in the past and present, etc.
