The novel is dedicated to the life and work of the legendary Ukrainian dancer and choreographer Serhiy Lifar (1905-1986), who by virtue of his talent entered the cohort of the most prominent artists of world culture of the twentieth century. Based on documentary sources and biographical data, the author vividly and truthfully depicts the whole era of development of European choreographic art, associated with the name of the great Ukrainian, who was destined to appear at the origins of the latest revival of French ballet in the last century. Kyiv of the first quarter and the middle of the XX century appears, as well as the theatrical-choreographic and artistic life of France of that time, which was vividly reflected in the creative path of Serhiy Lifar and received its dynamic development in unity with such prominent figures as Serhiy Diaghilev, Mykhailo Fokin , Matilda Kshesinskaya, Anna Pavlova, Olga Spesivtseva, Tamara Karsavina, Vaclav and Bronislaw Nizhynski, Pablo Picasso, Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Prokofiev, Alexander Benoit, Coco Chanel, George Balanchine and a number of other celebrities who values of world culture and art.
