Gorelik Joseph Isaakovich (1921-2008) was born in the city of Bobruisk, Mogilev region. Doctor of Law, Professor. The scientist researched the problems of criminal law, the history of law, the legal aspects of organ and tissue transplantation. Author of over 80 scientific works, including monographs, textbooks, teaching aids, scientific and practical comments on criminal legislation, articles. Prepared three candidates of sciences.
For many years he was a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Supreme Court of the BSSR, participated in the preparation of the draft Criminal Code of the BSSR in 1960, contributed to the development of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus in 1999. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree and medals.
