Lama Bidia Dandaron (1914-1974) was a remarkable Buddhist philosopher and religious figure, who had a lot of students, primarily among specialists of Buddhism studies, and attempted to restore Tantric Buddhism in Soviet Russia. He was persecuted and imprisoned for creation of the Buddhist community in Leningrad. The book comprises his articles on the problems of theory and practice of Buddhism, the translation of “History of Koko Nor” by the Tibetan scholar Sumpa Kenpo, and his last unfinished work “The Black Notebook”, where he synthesized Buddhism with the modern worldview.
