Sealing of documents with leaden seals got a large spread in Byzantium. Most of the documents were not preserved till the present days, whereas the extant seals have become the subject for scientific researches. The present edition is dedicated to the analysis of seals with Greco-Roman legends of the VIth-VIIIth centuries, the origin of which is connected with western provinces of the Byzantine Empire.
