The monograph examines the theory and practice of implementing the regional
development policy of the Russian Far East. The evolution of scientific concepts that
served as the basis for the formation of state policy for the development of the Far
Eastern regions is presented. The theoretical and methodological foundations of
selective regional policy are supplemented with objects, which are the geostrategic
regions of the country. New mechanisms of state policy for the development of the Far
Eastern Federal District as a geostrategic region are considered.
