This richly illustrated album includes three hundred and thirty works from the collections of the Russian Museum devoted to the formation and development of iconography of saints starting from the first Russian saint princes - Martyrs Boris and Gleb and ending with Seraphim of Sarov canonized in 1903. The publication contains a brief biography of each saint and an essay on the development of their iconography. Illustrations and accompanying texts are arranged chronologically according to dates of life and canonization of the saints. A significant part of the works are published for the first time.
