In the monograph devoted to the language, text and discursive specificity of the Russian mass press for 2015-2021, the author made an attempt to analyze the newspaper text from different methodological positions. The study of newspaper material from the positions of linguostylistics, genre studies, linguopragmatics, cognitive linguistics, discourse studies, axiology, linguacultural studies and linguapersonology allows us to form a comprehensive understanding of the discourse of modern print media and its trends. The demonstration of the methods and techniques of analysis existing within these areas is made on the text material, which is related mainly to the media topic "Politics". The results and conclusions of the study can be useful both for specialists in media linguistics, journalism, political linguistics, and for students and graduate students of the relevant specialties, as well as for everyone interested in the processes taking place in modern media.
