The monograph by L.V.Ilichev, Doctor of Philology and Professor of Saint-Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, is dedicated to the literary analysis of particular poems by Russian poets of the XVIIIth-XXth centuries in the context of the literary tradition development. The author examines intertexuality, a universal quality of poetic masterpieces. As a result of textual comparisons and analysis of intertextual connections, the well-known lines by Derzhavin, Batiushkov, Zhukovsky, Pushkin and Akhmatova discover new semantic sides, lexical associations and historical and cultural reminiscences.
