The monograph systematically examines the Russian military presence on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya Lower Age Troops of the New Sich. The circumstances of the appearance of fortifications, the problem of their localization, the internal structure and evolution of the network, recruitment, actual defense capability, functional capabilities and their implementation have been clarified. The role of the military presence in the Russian strategies of erosion of the autonomy of Zaporozhye is traced. The day-to-day relations between the Russian military and the autochthonous population of the region, as well as the mutual perception of the Cossacks and the Russians, have been investigated.
