The book presents the different anecdotes and funny stories, which characterize the literary life of Russia. They were taken from archival materials (Department of Manuscripts and Rare Books of The Saratov University Science Library), old Russian magazins (Russkii arkhiv/Russian Archives; Russkaia starina/Russian Antiquity; Istoricheskii vestnik/Historical Bulletin), old anecdotes collections, as well as from memoirs and works of Russian writers, mostly of the XIX century.
