The reprinted “Russian-Dargin Dictionary” of 1950 is unique, because it’s the creation of a famous linguist, one of the founders of Dargin modern literature S.N. Abdullaev. This dictionary had a huge impact on the development of the Dargin literary language, culture and vocabulary. Naturally, over the past more than seventy years after the first edition, significant changes have occurred in both languages: many words have fallen out of use, new words have appeared, and the meanings of some words have changed.
