The monograph is dedicated to appearance and formation of the Russian church abroad. This topic is little studied as for decades it has been considered exceptionally from the polemic point of view. Basing on archival documents the author tried to answer a range of questions connected with the history of appearance of the Russian church abroad and the position of Saint Patriarch Tikhon towards the Archiereic Synod in Sremskie Karlovitsy. The book reflects the events, connected with the tendencies inside the Russian Orthodox Church abroad at the beginning of the 1920s.
