The collection discusses topical questions of the relations between Russia and Central Asian states. The collapse of the USSR, emergence of independent states in Central Asia, formation of the CIS, the growth of economic power of China influenced the geopolitical situation in this region of Asia and caused a lot of problems. The border line of Russia and Kazakhstan became the gate of smuggling, drugs traffic, illegal migration - all these processes threaten national security of both countries and do economic and social damage to the frontiers of Siberia and Kazakhstan. The analysis of these and other problems, possible solutions, prognoses for future of the Russian-Kazakh borders were the main issues discussed at the event and included into the offered book.
