The edition conveys to the readers a broad variety of issues on the history of relations between the Caucasus and Russia. It recounts the research on stability of urban elitist communities, peculiarities in their transformation to the hierarchically stratified organization and foundation of progressive but contradictive Russian-Caucasian coordination.
