The book by Lev Tikhomirov (1852-1923) opens a whole spectrum of democracy myths imposed today. Democracy, which has brought so much blood and shock into the Christian world, since its appearance in the XVIIth century, requires an explanation of its phenomenon. It is possible to keep thinking that the mankind has not created a state system better than democracy. But that worldview, based on the ideas of the French Revolution, has become out of date and cannot make the Russian society develop. It still only undermines the national forces and weakens the State unity. The present volume is composed from works, written mainly at the end of the XIXth – beginning of the XXth centuries.
