The second volume is entirely devoted to the history of Russian sacred mission in Jerusalem (1847-1918). Considerable attention is given to historical and legal problems of Russian landed property and building in Jerusalem - to the so-called 'Russian Palestine', the unique phenomenon of Russian and world culture with its complicated infrastructure of real estate, purchased and built in the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth century.
