The book you are holding in your hands is a continuation of the first attempt at a scientific biography in independent Ukraine, "Bandera, Shukhevych, Melnyk, Konovalets, Stetsko, Stashynskyi, Sudoplatov. A portrait against the background of an era."
This volume of the "Great Scientific Project" is about the history of armed resistance/struggle/resistance in the 1943-1950s in the territories of the modern western regions of Ukraine and some eastern voivodeships of Poland, which were then part of the interwar Polish Republic, Romania, the USSR, Czechoslovakia , Hungary, as well as Nazi Germany.
The well-known abbreviations OUN and UPA merged into an inseparable whole. In reality, these names were used by various armed formations and political groups of Galician nationalists, former citizens of the Polish state, and not of the communist Ukrainian SSR. Therefore, this history is a part of the history of Poland, not of the Ukrainian SSR and the Ukrainian People's Republic, whose legal successor is modern Ukraine. These theses no longer need proof: modern researchers have proved it as 2 + 2 = 4.
