The book is dedicated to the events of December 19, 2010 - the most significant protest against the Lukashenko regime. On election day, the author was detained in the Square and convicted in an administrative case, and on February 1, 2011 - in a criminal case. D. Drozd was sentenced to 3 years of strict regime and was released on pardon on August 13, 2011.
"Botanists' Revolt" is not just a diary (which the author kept all the time in prison), equipped with photographs, "Preface", "Afterword", "Comments", "Dictionary" and "Appendices", it is the publication of real materials of the investigation and court, which turns the book not only into a historical source, but also into a cognitive, living encyclopedia of prison life in modern Belarus.
