The publication is devoted to the study of issues related to the processes of formation of the educational space in the postmodern era. Such basic concepts as rhizomatic learning, the model of rhizomatic knowledge, the implosion of education, and the educational space are considered. Based on the analysis of the history of the emergence of the concept of rhizomatic learning, as well as on the basis of an analysis of current trends in the transformation of the educational space as a whole, the characteristic features of the transition process from the educational approaches of the old format to the approaches characteristic of modern times are noted.
