State scientific and technical programs are one of the tools for solving the most significant national economic, environmental, social and defense tasks and act as a link between the subjects of scientific and scientific and technical activities and sectors of the real sector of the economy. These programs are carried out with a five-year cyclical frequency.
In 2016–2020 17 state scientific and technical programs (SSTP) were carried out: "Energy-2020", "Agropromkompleks-2020", "Engineering and machine-building technologies", "Radioelectronics-3", "Microelectronics", "Standards and scientific instruments", " Resource saving, new materials and technologies - 2020", "Building structures, materials and technologies", "New methods of medical care", "Low-tonnage chemistry", "Industrial bio- and nanotechnologies - 2020", "Information security - 3" , "Intelligent Information Technologies", "Robotic Systems and Aerospace Technologies", "Natural Management and Environmental Risks", "Forests of Belarus - Sustainable Management, Innovative Development, Resources", "Protection from Emergencies - 2020".
