The monograph is devoted to the study of research and religious contacts of Muslims in Dagestan and the Volga-Ural region. After the fall of the Kazan Khanate, some Tatar scholars received a formal education in Dagestan madrassas, which upheld the Islamic research tradition in the Volga-Ural region. Subsequently, a reverse process occurred after Dagestan was incorporated into the Russian Empire, leading Dagestani scholars to be included in the intellectual orbit of the Volga-Ural region.
