In his book Petersburg historian and literary man I.Bogdanov traces the history of such popular dainty as ice-cream since the IIIrd century B.C., when in Ancient China people began to make frozen desserts. The author provides numerous facts from “the world history of ice-cream”, but the main topic is “adventures” of ice-cream in Russia. The book is concluded with a small anthology, which contains poets’ and writers’ utterances about ice-cream.
