The book presents the results of a sociological study supported by Institute for Sociology of RAN. N.Lapina, Doctor of History, and A.Chirikova, Doctor of Sociology conducted an extensive sociological survey in two leading regions of Russia that are being characterized by stable economic situation and good political dynamics. Yaroslavl and Samara Regions are analyzed in connection with advanced economic models, with forming the political elites, and with new tendencies in regional business regulation. The study also covers situation with mass media in the regions, comparatively surveys prospects of new political leaders and describes the process of forming new political parties.
