The book presents a study of the regularities of socio-economic development of the Russian Federal subjects - the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal Region - as compared to the Russian Federation on the whole in 1990-2001. Comparative evaluation of social and economic potentials of the Russian Far-Eastern and Trans-Baikal regions is given. Monitoring of the socio-economic situation and its dynamics in the framework of Interregional Association of Economic Interaction of the Federal Subjects of the Far East and Trans-Baikal Region is presented as a set of arranged data. This allows to assess the current economic situation in the region, economic potential and the extent of its realization, and to make interregional comparisons.
