In the first book, set out in poetic form, the author tried to show the atmosphere of the time of the 19th and 20th centuries through separate plot autobiographical sketches, passed through the prism of his worldview. This period in the life of the country (the Russian Empire, and then the Soviet Union) was marked by both great cataclysms (revolutions, wars), and great victories. And through all these events and trials the heroes of the book passed, whom the author lovingly and sincerely describes. This is also the story of his family, his ancestors, himself in the light of the events of that time.
