This is a compilation of articles written by Bulgarian literary historian Rumyana Evtimova about Russian literature of the 20th century. The book is divided into four sections. The first section discusses the "silver age" of Russian poetry. The second and the third section, "Nabokov's Novels" and "Brodsky's Poetic World", bear the characteristics of monographs because the separate articles were created in the context of the two authors' overall lifework. The fourth section, "Reception and Reflection", which has lent its title to the whole book, looks at the history of reading Russian classics and the re-interpretation of the literary canon in the present day.
