The collection offered to the reader is dedicated to the folklore of the Khantai Evenks, which is one of the northernmost Evenks in Russia. The book contains original tales told by Evenki legends living in the southern part of Taimyr. Small genres include riddles, commandments, instructions, signs, prohibitions and amulets. The texts are published in the northern dialect of the Khantaic dialect of the Evenki language, folklore works are translated into Russian.
