The reader is proposed an edition that continues the series of 'Publications of Tartu University Library'. It deals with the burning problem of our society concerning all modern libraries, such as automatization, changes in work organization, making both published materials and electronic information accessible to users, the training of library staff and users. In recent years all these problems have held steady attention in Tartu University Library.
