Shagen Mesropovich Shaginyan (1922-1988), journalist, translator, folklorist, ethnographer, local historian, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, member of the Union of Journalists, laureate of the Nikolai Pogodin Prize. The book contains more than 2,300 proverbs and sayings, structured by topic, as well as a dictionary of the New Nakhichevan dialect.
