In the XVIth-XVIIth centuries Kantor was a central figure in the music life of a Protestant town. In the presented study the institution of Kantor in Tallinn is observed through nearly two centuries, from the first Protestant Kantor mentioned by name in 1531 until the end of the Swedish reign in Estonian history in 1670.
