The end of the twenty-first century. The danger of nuclear war has long passed, but the surrounding reality is far from utopia. Civilization fell victim to its own greed: total droughts led to famine and almost complete extinction of humanity. As long as no unnecessary nuclear weapons are quietly rotting in launching mines around the world, the military has seized power - the only ones who have been able to establish at least some semblance of order. In the hope of suppressing the resistance of those dissatisfied with the new world order, government-controlled scientists create weapons that are fundamentally different from everything previously invented.
