Nearly nine years have passed since the break-up of the Soviet Union. Despite cultural and technological similarities and economic and structural interdependence, disintegrative tendencies seem to predominate between post-Soviet countries. As a result relations between many of them are darkened by sharp contradictions. The present edition acquaints the reader with modern problems in the development of post-Soviet countries and includes works of Ukrainian, Russian, Tajik and Azerbaijan scientists.
