The monograph researches peculiarities of children's literature on the basis of autobiographical prose by L.Tolstoy, S.Aksakov and N.Garin-Mikhaylovsky. Ways of an author's expression and originality of autobiographical works telling about process of formation of a child's spiritual world are under analysis. Special emphasis is put on a play as effective means to help children become acquainted with the world and orient themselves in diversity of situations.
