On the basis of the field ethnographic material collected in 2000-2007 the author of the report analyzes the most burning issues of identity preserving of the Black Sea Shapsugs in the XXIst century. The report touches upon social and political life of the Shapsugs, activity of the Adyge-Khasa of the Black Sea Shapsugs, religious activity of the population, traditional social culture and communal and legal traditions.
