This volume of 'Acta Academiae artium vilnensis' is devoted to the prehistoric art of the Baltic Region. Owing to the appropriate conditions in the marshes and wetlands of the region, artworks of amber, wood, clay, bone and horn, such as small figurines, carvings and decorated pottery have been preserved till the present time. Discovered recently, these artworks have attracted local and international interest. Objects of high artistic and aesthetic value, which were created throughout the prehistory and early ages of the Baltic region and have been functioning as a link to unite various cultures and peoples around the Baltic Sea, are under precise analysis in this edition.
