Yurii Volodymyrovych Shevelyov (1908–2002) was a Slavic linguist, historian of Ukrainian literature, literary and theater critic, publicist, and an active participant in the scientific and cultural life of the Ukrainian emigration.
The proposed volume contains 64 of his publications of the pre-emigration period (1929-1944), which first appeared in periodicals and scientific journals. They belong to the fields of literary and theatrical criticism, linguistic stylistics, history of Ukrainian literary language, language culture, history of linguistics, dialectology and etymology, history of Ukrainian literature and journalism, general journalism. All texts are submitted in the first editions with minor changes in the technical order. The publication is accompanied by a nominal index.
