Miro Gavran (1961) is the most translated and performed in the theater Croatian writer. His works have been translated into 42 languages, he had more than 400 theatrical premieres on all continents, which had more than 4 million viewers. His books had more than 250 editions in Croatian and in translations. They were printed in a million copies. He has so far written ten novels for adults: The Forgotten Son, How We Broke Our Legs, Clara, Margita, Judith, The Baptist, Pontius Pilate, The Only Witness of Beauty, Kafka's Friend, Several Birds and One Sky, two collections of stories: Little Unusual People and Stories about loneliness, and two books of poetry: Poems and Defense of Jerusalem.
