The 1989 census data served as a basis for the publication. To produce postcensal estimates for 1 January, data on births, deaths and changes of the place of residence of the following years were added to the basis. The data are presented in one-year and five-year age groups (men, women and total). The changes in population figures compared with the preceding year are also presented. The initial data and problems connected with them, etc. are discused. The tables on ethnic composition of population are given, as well. The Edition will be published in August.
