In the late 18th century Poles and Ukrainians were completely defeated in the longstanding opposition to the Russian Empire. Consequently during the 19th century both nations were frightened by the real prospect of being submerged in the 'single Russian sea'. Poles and Ukrainians had to struggle against Russian imperialism together. The mutual need of the opposition to Russians contributed to the agreement. This book is an observer of the Polish-Ukrainian agreement in 1890 - 1894.
