The issues of energy policy and security from the standpoint of modern political science are revealed. The change of emphasis in consideration of energy policy issues at all levels due to aggressive weaponization of energy, Russia's war against Ukraine is shown.
The political and legal foundations of the state energy policy of Ukraine are clarified in view of the intensification of the European integration process and the growth of threats to the energy security of both Ukraine and the EU. The process of implementation of legal and regulatory standards of the EU to the legislation of Ukraine on energy issues is analyzed. The political and legal foundations of the reconstruction of the energy sector of Ukraine and further rapprochement with the EU have been determined.
