Pokaini is an ancient place in Zemgale. It is a place of overwhelming natural divercity. Different stones, interesting rocks and minerals are found in this forest. It is believed that the rocks radiate energy which is able to cure some chronical illnesses. The spring water in Pokaini forest can be used as some kind of medicine. Extremely rare plants can be found in the forest, including orchids, lilies of the valley and marsh marigolds. Pokaini has been inhabited since the stone age.
