This original literary work is the first attempt in Russian popular scientific literature to trace systematically the routes of the Russian ships in the South latitudes based on archival materials and hitherto inaccessible sources. The narration covers the period from 1771 till the beginning of the XXth c. and serves as a monument to courage and daring of Russian people, real heroes of the Great Russian Empire.
