The book by P. S. Kirillov includes the plays "The teacher", "Light over the far corner", "The big family", and "Litova". The last play is printed in the Erzya language. In his plays, the author explores the historical past of the Mordovian people, life and everyday routines in Mordovian villages across different eras, interethnic friendship, and related themes. The play "Litova" can confidently be considered a literary hallmark of Mordovia. It was written in 1939 and represents the first Mordovian historical drama, which later served as the basis for the libretto of the first Mordovian musical drama "Litova".
