On the basis of a set of floor plans of buildings from 72 settlements from the Early and Late Stone Age from the territory of Slovakia, the book presents the structural diversity of period architecture. The inventory of buildings served as a source base for monitoring the frequency of occurrence of specific building types of above-ground or sunken structures. The most representative floor plans by type were used to create sketches of the supporting concepts for each building type. In these, structurally important load-bearing foundation points, structural foundation lines or important structural interconnections could be recognised and defined. It is the specifics of the various foundation concepts that form the basis for structural interpretations and more comprehensive descriptive architectural reconstructions of the best-preserved floor plan layouts of both above-ground and buried buildings in the various Neolithic and Eneolithic cultures in our territory.
