The book is devoted to the study of the features of the formation of complex nouns and adjectives in the Avar and Russian languages. A comparative analysis of word-formation models from the point of view of their productivity-non-productivity allows us to determine some tendencies in the replenishment of vocabulary with new words of complex structure, to trace the features of word-formation calques and the creation of complex words by analogy in the Avar language.
