The book presents a monographic research and a complex of documents about Pechora brigade of the USSR Academy of Sciences Polar Commission as a unique event in the history of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Pechora brigade was organized on the initiative of the Academician A. P. Karpinsky in 1933 to investigate the Northern Region and the Komi Autonomous Region. Afterwards it had a significant impact on the USSR European North development.
