The publication traces a fragment of the life of General Pavel Shandruk, which falls on 1939-1945 pp., Covers his participation as a soldier and politician in the events of World War II. The book is based on the facts and conclusions of the autobiographical story of this outstanding personality, which impress with the logical simplicity of the "soldier of the front line" and the analytical perfection of the professional historian and head of the General Staff of the UPR Army. They became a kind of guide for the historical understanding of this period in the life of Ukrainian military and political emigration and Ukrainians in general. The fundamental works used by General P. Shandruk, domestic and foreign historians are a favorable basis for a broader consideration of events and their historical background. Particular attention is paid to the fate of Ukrainian servicemen, especially soldiers and officers of the 1st Ukrainian Division and the Ukrainian National Army, as well as military formations of the peoples enslaved by Red Moscow, who resumed the struggle for independence of their countries under the political leadership of the relevant National Committees. And, of course, we have not forgotten about the high-ranking German soldiers and politicians who supported their struggle against Soviet and Vlasov Russian imperialism.
